Firefox comes with a default Amazon plugin, so if you have installed our Amazon affiliate plugin you will end up with two Amazon entries in your search pulldown menu. The following steps will walk you through removing the original default plugin.
Locate the Firefox application on your hard drive.
Control (ctrl) click on the Firefox application icon to bring up a contextual menu.
From this menu, select "show package contents."
Navigate through the following folders Contents-->MacOS-->searchplugins
The "searchplugins" folder contains the following files (among others): amazon-affiliate.png amazon-affiliate.src amazondotcom.png and amazondotcom.src. The last two files are the original plugins that come with Firefox and the first two (amazon-affiliate.png amazon-affiliate.src) are our affiliate plugins.
Delete the amazondotcom.png and amazondotcom.src files by moving them to the trash. Alternately you can move them to another location on your hard drive in case you wish to reinstall them later. Leave amazon-affiliate.png amazon-affiliate.src where they are.
Launch or re-launch Firefox and try out the new affiliate plugin. Using this custom search plugin will support this site at no additional cost to you. Thanks for your support!
